Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: (please read carefully)

Itinerary: The Hook Fishing & Accommodation will write an itinerary listing scheduled daily activities and services purchased. In the event of a difference between information contained in the offer or on the Internet web site, the language of the itinerary shall control.

Deposits: Deposits are due 10 days after booking, via credit card, money order or bank wire transfer. Deposits are 50% of the package rate times the number of guests. RESERVATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED until your deposit is received. If no deposit is received and/or posted 10 days after you have been invoiced, your reservation is subject to cancellation and the space can be sold to customers requesting space. We will then wait list you for that week as a courtesy, should space become available.

*Subject to change for last minute bookings.

Balances: The final payment (the balance on your invoice) is due in our account 30 days before the departure date of your trip. We accept all major credit cards. We do apply a 3% surcharge to process your cards.

* Last minute bookings must be paid in full before arrival.

Cancellation policy: If you must cancel your trip for any reason, we will try to re-sell your dates. If we are able to do so, a refund less $150 per person fee, will be given. However, if we are unable to re-sell your dates, you will lose your deposit. If you cancel your trip, for whatever reason, 20 days or less, prior to your arrival date at The Lodge, all payments made on your trip will be non-refundable.

Cancellations due to weather: If bad weather arises and your Captain determines that for safety sake the trip should not be taken – you will receive a credit for that’s day fishing on your next trip.

Boats and captains: The boat captains listed on our web pages are the primary captains within our fleet and are the most professional in Guatemala, typically fishing 150 days a year. Occasionally, due to illness or the need for an occasional day of rest, we will substitute a captain for a given vessel. Most of our first mates are also accomplished captains with many years of experience and can stand in, in an emergency. Also, like any business, from time to time we do have changes due to promotions. These situations may also require a change of captains on certain vessels. Again, the substitution or change of captain does not happen very often, but we do reserve the right to make crew substitutions and changes when necessary.

Health Insurance: We have all the necesary insurance policies to operate. A waiver will be signed prior to getting on board one of our boats.

*By accepting the services of The Hook Fishing & Accommodation, the angler must agree that The Hook is relieved of any responsibility.

Travel Insurance: Recommended, in the event of a family emergency, an act of God, or any other unforeseen situation that would require you to cancel your trip.

Scope of Responsibility: The Hook Fishing & Accommodation and its subsidiary engaged in contracting suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with any itinerary shall act only as agents in making arrangements for air and/or ground transportation, accommodations, or any other service provided within the terms of the solicited itinerary, and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident, failure, omission or delay to person or property due to an act of default of any carrier, hotel, company or person rendering any of the services included in the trip package, or by act of God. Furthermore, no responsibility is accepted for quarantine, government restraints, weather or other causes beyond their personal control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expense, omissions, delays, re-routing, or acts of any government or authority. The payment rendered by the client for all reserved services as detailed in his/her billing shall constitute consent to all provisions as described herein.

* Rates subject to change without notice and fuel surcharges may apply.
