Getting There

International flights into Guatemala City depart daily from most cities in the U.S. Due to the proximity many U.S. hubs offer non-stop flights. From Miami it is only a 2 hour flight and from Houston 2 hours and 30 minutes. Most parties arrive and get settled in our Lodge the afternoon prior to their first day of fishing. American passports holders do not require a visa to enter Guatemala.

Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by a The Hook chauffeur. You will then be driven 65 miles south to Likin on a four lane toll-highway in the comfort of our A/C vehicle. Cold beer and sodas will be provided for the scenic drive thru mountains, volcanoes and sugar cane fields.

Likin is the home of The Hook Lodge. Many affluent Guatemalans enjoy the beauty and charm of the complex and have waterfront vacation homes in the area.

Most guests have an early morning departure following their final day of fishing and choose to spend their last night in Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala. There are many premium hotels to choose from and several fine dining restaurants nearby. Our staff will be more than happy to make dining recommendations and arrange all reservations for you.
